There’s a pause, after which Archer lets out a quiet sigh.

“…very well. I assume you want me to bring it next time?”

"Yes, I'd like that," he says with a smile. "We can start to look at some of those feelings."

“I assume there’s a reason for scrutinizing those feelings.”

And feelings in general. He feels like he’s going to get hives from talking so much about emotions.

[heyboss]

Sheehan's smile is patient. "That is what we do here, Archer. Examine feelings, determine how they play into our actions."

He tilts his head. "What did you expect when you came here?"

He's not accusing at all, merely curious.

Archer pinches the bridge of his nose.

“I knew there would be some of it. But I did not know it would be all of it.”

That said-

“I am not criticizing it. I am just trying to understand it.”

[heyboss]

Sheehan nods. "I know. I don't get offended that easily. But the very fact that this is a difficult exercise for you means that we are on the right track. Healing doesn't feel good all of the time."

There is a pause as Archer absorbs that. And it’s obvious he hesitates before he asks one more question:

“Knowing what you know…you think I can change? Improve?”

Because even though he is commuting to Trying, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have Doubts.
