It is inevitable that you would feel disappointed, but you yourself stated that if we failed to establish a bond, you would release me.

[Florian later on will tell Thrawn that he has to continue, but he doesn't know this yet]

I find that difficult to believe.

[He tilts his head.]

[He settles back.]

I can understand why that might be difficult for you to understand.

[He shifts a little, thoughtful.]

Do you know why I continue to show up to these sessions?

I assume it is your duty or your calling.

It is my duty, yes, but that's not why I show up here, in this room, with you. For you.

[He pauses a moment.]

I do that because I care.

Ah. Of course.

[He also does not believe that for an instant, and finds it a very poor manipulation technique. Florian may have mentioned Thrawn's political ineptness to Sheehan, but he hopes he would not have been that naive at any point in his life.]

[heyboss]

[Sheehan nods.]
