Does this problem need a face to face conversation?

How about I tell you what it is and you tell me

I've ended up in this quasi-therapist situation with someone else
Not to put too much detail into why. Their business. They're a fucking idiot but I guess I care about what happens to them

But I'm starting to think I might be in over my head here.

You don't need to be a therapist to listen with empathy and genuine feeling.

If that was all it was I wouldn't be asking you about it.

You already know I hate this stuff.

What do you think they are coming to you for?

A friend, for the most part.

But holy fuck he's got some heavy issues and he's at least a few times my age. I'm trying here but there's only so much I can do. I got my own shit to deal with too.

And you are allowed to set boundaries on what you're comfortable with. That isn't harmful.

It's not that I don't want to.

I just don't want to fuck it up.

Are you doing what you're doing out of his best interest?
