"I'm glad of that, Hanna. You seemed to handle that well." He rubs his face. "Anyway, whatever the cost, whatever it was, I'm glad you came here. And - my door's always open to you if you need a place."
"Well, it was walk away or try and punch him again. Which- did you know Malcolm's a werewolf? Cause I didn't and it pissed me off cause I totally could have landed that first punch if he wasn't fast as fuck. Absolutely unfair advantage." He's going to be bitter about this and his lack of skill in sensing magic for a while. He missed his stupid little hammer with its detection rune on it.
"I did know that," he admits quietly. "But it never seemed to be an issue. It really hasn't come up. But I can recognize his wolf form. Didn't know about the super speed thing..."
"Not really super, just. Wolves are fast, you know? Faster than me." Like most of the paranormal he deals with, but generally he likes to know what he's dealing with.
He laughs, shaking his head, "dumb thing to do, try to punch a werewolf."
"Oh, I've wanted to punch a werewolf before, you just don't want to be in a situation where you need to punch a werewolf." There is a major difference.
"I don't know if there's a need to punch a werewolf," he teases. "But at least I don't think I'll ever find out. I have - other ways of defending myself now."
"What sort of magic? Is it the kind you could teach to some else?" Though he's not entirely interested for himself. His own magic isn't the kind of thing he feels he should teach to other people as it does change you, if minorly.
"Florian's magic is so fucking cool...I really need to ask him and socks if they can fast track me into the artificer game. I've always wanted to learn."
"No. I don't even know how it works. But John just - plants the information in my brain," he admits. "I can - move from one place to another. Teleport, I guess. I can put out fires. I can freeze people in place. I can shield myself. I can dry clean my own clothes. And the bracelet lets me turn into a bear."
"Do you have to do anything for him to do that? I might should ask Vinny if he'd be interested. Guy deserves a bit of magic...I'd teach him mine, but uh- It not without a little cost." Which he isn't sure how he'd feel about that.
He is interested in that bracelet though, "Oh...that's fucking cool. Shape changing is such a classic. What kind of bear?"
"No," he says with a shake of his head. "John just asked me if I wanted to know, and so I did. And then things started happening and I slowly realized I learned more. John's keeping me safe."
He shoves his hands in his pockets. "It's a big grizzly. I can show you, if you'd like?"
"That's sweet of him. Might have to ask him about that teleportation spell sometime, and the laundry spell. Wu Xin was extremely disappointed in my magic that I couldn't instantly clean his clothes. Was kind of insulting honestly..." That kid, he did adore him regardless.
He perks up a little at the question, "So long as I get a real bear hug, sure!"
He rolls his eyes. "We won't go far. I can't fit through the door," he tells him, taking off his jacket and setting it on a nearby table before he changes.
And where Sheehan once stood, now stands a grizzly bear who, despite it all, looks sheepish.
He has no idea if bears are soft, but he is immediately coming at him in an attempt to but his arms around his neck. He isn't sure if he'll be able to get them all the way around.
"You're kind of adorable, did you know that? I mean...bears are both terrifying and cute."
Sheehan huffs again, but he does nuzzle his big nose against Hanna's shirt. And then he will scoot closer, turning a little, offering him a leg up if he needs it.
He might be giggling to himself as he tries to climb as gently as he can, taking care to not pull on his fur too far until he's seated on his back, legs bent.
"Man...I should have left my communicator on the floor...I wanna take a selfie."
Sheehan-the-bear snuffs out a laugh and slowly stands up. There is no weight to Hanna at all. Sheehan moves and stands as if Hanna is nothing more than a fly on his back. The fur pulling doesn't even register to him. He starts to walk, just pacing around the room.
Apparently Sheehan is a master at making a guy forget all about someone blurting out some bullshit.
Hanna normally feels light on his feet, but he feels positively weightless, holding on and enjoying the rather slow, small circle. "I wonder if Florian has any more of those bracelets. Thats...Arthur can shape shift too, can't he?"
Bears really don't nod, but Sheehan makes it work in a low, deliberate move that seems more like a bow in some ways. But then he starts to walk again, not allowing too long of a break.
