"You made these?" It's fascination in his tone, utterly curious and - when he does move around next to Sheehan (politely, despite his eagerness, taking the rope from Hanna to get a better look at it himself) he only lights up brighter. "Hanna, this is beautiful, truly!"
A thousand. A thousand paper cranes, and Sheehan is momentarily speechless. He knew Hanna was into paper crafts; he remembers learning how to make the stars. But this is something else entirely and he's - well, he's touched.
"Hanna, I love it. I - is there a specific way we're supposed to hang it?" There is absolutely no question that they're keeping it here.
"Well, yeah? You get pretty fast with them if you do it often enough." And he'd been folding since that first week of knowing his partner. He figures that since he's not close to being able to pop back home for a visit the dead man wouldn't be upset if he gave the ones he folded for him away.
He looks rather pleased that they both seem to like it, passing off the rope to Arthur so he can get a better look.
"You can kind of just put it on the wall, where you want it is where it should go. I can teach you how to make them if you want, by the way? It's kind of relaxing, put on some music, fold some cranes."
"I might have to take you up on that at some point," he says cheerfully.
And he holds up the senbazuru to Sheehan so he can get a better look, with a grin that lies somewhere between cheeky and shameless. "The bedroom, then, d'you think?"
Sheehan nods decisively. "Yeah, that's perfect," he decides. "How heavy is it?" He reaches out for it, using that as an excuse to get close to it. "Think it'll need more than one nail?"
Hanna, who isn't actually all that embarrassed by the idea of his gift being prominently displayed in their bedroom, seems to stand just a little straighter. The liked it.
"I mean, with the wood I got from the beach it's probably like...eight, ten pounds?"
"Perhaps three or four nails, then," he muses wryly, letting Sheehan hold it himself. "Or we can attach it to the top of the wardrobe so it doesn't tear a piece out of the wall."
He gives Hanna another smile, easy and bright. "Thank you again for being at the wedding, as well."
"We'll start there," he tells Arthur and takes it to the bedroom, reaching up high to attach it to the edge for now. It will hang and it will stay but it will remain out of the way and safe until they can put it somewhere permanent.
"Yes," he calls over his shoulder. "Thank you. I was glad you came, Hanna."
Finding the coffee that Sheehan had poured for him earlier, he shakes his head before taking a sip and humming. Some people make better coffee than he ever could.
"I wasn't going to miss it. It was nice, seeing you and everyone else get to have some fun. Also that cake was to fucking die for, so..." He had enjoyed it. That and, you know. Having a plus one to bring was kind of awesome? He'd enjoyed it.
"Well you're welcome to harass John if you didn't get enough on the day," he points out cheerfully, leaning into the space Sheehan was in without really thinking. "He'd be delighted to spend the cooking time with you, of course."
"You can't argue with the cake. And if you make more with John, you have to make enough for one more. I think I had three cupcakes, all for myself." He comes back out of the bedroom and brushes his hands off, crossing behind Arthur by placing a hand on his back.
"So long as he doesn't expect help. I've ruined top Ramen before, it's a talent of mine." Though the free smells and good conversation certainly would be nice.
Taking another sip of his coffee he grins at the both of them, all cute and close. "You're both adorable. Let me know if I'm intruding, I've heard things about newly weds, not about to get in the way of your passionately burning live for each other."
